ROCKSTAR MAKITA OFF-ROAD SCORCHES THE COMPETITION AT SPEEDWORLD

La Mirada, Ca - Under the beating sun of the Arizona desert, fans and drivers braved triple digit temperatures last weekend to be a part of Round 5 & 6 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS).

Speedworld Off-Road Park in Surprise, AZ hosted the GEICO Duel in the Desert, presented by General Tire, and the action was certainly spectacular. The Rockstar Makita drivers, Rob MacCachren, Todd Leduc, and Brian Deegan were all in action – while Makita Power Tools were at work in the pits keeping their 800 HP Race Trucks on-track.

In Pro 2 Action, Rob MacCachren was able to work his way up through the star studded field to capture a victory on Saturday, his second of the season. MacCachren is now the first multi-race winner of the 2012 season. On Sunday, Rob MacCachren again  faced tough competition on the field but came on strong in the closing laps and was able to put his Rockstar Makita Ford up on the podium once again in second place. Brian Deegan had a hard-hitting two days of racing. After running strong all weekend and leading several laps, mechanical issues both days forced him to slow down his pace just to finish so he could salvage some valuable championship points.

In Pro 4 action, Todd LeDuc has been a model of consistency, having yet to finish off the podium this season. On Saturday, Todd did not disappoint as he put his Rockstar Makita Ford in front of the pack and led for most of the race. But late in the race, Todd’s brother and fellow Makita sponsored athlete, Kyle LeDuc, managed to work his way around him to take the win. Todd finished up a close second place and once again put his Rockstar Makita Ford on the podium.

The next stop for the Rockstar Makita Off-Road teams will be on June 23-24 as they take on Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT. In the meantime, catch all the action from the previous races on CBS Sports and NBC Sports Channels. Check local listings for dates and times.

Rob MacCachren (above & left) captured a victory on Saturday and a 2nd place on Sunday at Speedworld.

Brian Deegan encountered tough conditions in Rounds 5 & 6.

Todd LeDuc came away with two 2nd place finishes.
