MAKITA OFF-ROAD TEAMS READY TO LIGHT UP STORIED SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA RACETRACK

MacCachren, Deegan, LeDuc lead a deep field in nighttime race this weekend

Makita continues to be the tool of choice for both professional and weekend off-roaders.

This weekend the Makita-backed off road teams of Rob MacCachren, Brian Deegan and Todd LeDuc head to San Bernardino, California for Rounds 9 and 10 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS).

Nighttime Racing in Southern California
The August race is the first nighttime race of the season. The illuminated Glen Helen Raceway is tight and fast, requiring the drivers to be aggressive yet precise. Huge jumps and highly technical obstacles will not be the only tests they will face, as an extremely tight points battle is being waged in all classes.

Makita Knows Off-Road
Off the track, the action is fast and furious. Makita Industrial Power Tools will be at work in the pits in the hands of the skilled mechanics that keep the 850+ horsepower trucks on-track and in top condition for two days of intense racing.

Rob MacCachren Eyes Career Victory #200
An intriguing subplot to the dramatic nighttime competition will be Rockstar Energy Drink / Makita Tools’ Rob MacCachren. “Rob Mac”, currently second in the Pro 2 Unlimited class, already has ten victories this season and 199 total career victories coming in to this weekend’s race. Fans will be watching as he shoots for career win #200.

The Southern California track would be a fitting venue for MacCachren to reach this unrivaled milestone in off-road motorsports.

“Last season I broke my left collar bone racing at Glen Helen,” MacCachren recalls. “Instead of bagging the season though I put my MasterCraft race suit back on and drove through the pain.” MacCachren went on to win the San Felipe Challenge of Champions and two more LOORRS races, finishing second in series points in both the SCORE International desert race series and LOORRS short course racing.

Brian Deegan in Pro 2 and Pro Lite
MacCachren will have plenty of obstacles on the way to career victory #200, including the defending Pro 2 champ, Rockstar Metal Mulisha Makita’s Brian Deegan. Deegan currently sits in third place in the Pro 2 points standings. Deegan is also the defending champ in the Pro Lite division and will be looking to make a statement this weekend by bringing home another victory.

Todd LeDuc in Pro 4
Todd LeDuc has been a model of consistency so far this season with six podium finishes in his Rockstar Makita Ford truck. The reigning “Rookie of the Year” is in second place behind his brother Kyle in the Pro 4 Unlimited points standings. LeDuc is familiar with the challenging Glen Helen track and will be a frontrunner in the highly competitive Pro 4 class.
