BRIAN DEEGAN BATTLES BACK FOR A PODIUM FINISH

La Mirada, CA. - The 2012 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) kicked off this past weekend at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, AZ.  "The General," Brian Deegan came out swinging in his Rockstar Makita Metal Mulisha backed Fords in the Pro Lite and Pro 2 classes. 

On Saturday, Brian was forced to start at the back of the pack in the Pro Lite class due to some mechanical issues during qualifying.  Nevertheless, Brian made the most of it and battled his way through the pack and had worked his way up to second place by the last lap.  Unfortunately, he was spun out by another driver in the final turn and lost several positions but he still crossed the finish line in eighth place picking up valuable championship points in the process.  In Pro 2 action, Brian again fell victim to some mechanical gremlins in his all new Pro 2 race truck.  After running up near the front of the pack, Brian broke his rear axle and was limited to a much slower place.  Remarkably, Brian still managed to finish the race and earned a few points in the chase for the Pro 2 championship.  "We had some bad luck today but we'll get to work on the trucks tonight, regroup and come out ready to race tomorrow," stated Deegan. 
 
The reigning champ did not disappoint his many fans in attendance, as he did come out ready to race on Sunday.  The Rockstar Makita Metal Mulisha team worked hard all night and had his truck ready to go.  Brian put the team’s hard work to good use as he was able to work his way up through the pack and pilot his Rockstar Makita Metal Mulisha Pro 2 to a second place finish on Sunday.  “This wasn’t the perfect weekend; the team and I have some things we need to go back and get dialed down with the trucks, but I am excited about this season and getting back on the podiums the next round in California,” stated Deegan.
 

The next race for the Rockstar Makita Metal Mulisha team will be at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, CA on April 21st & 22nd.
