Drivers in the 2012 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) have been racing before packed grandstands all season. But this weekend they’ll step up to a nationwide audience.
LOORRS and Makita's Off Road Racing teams will be on CBS Sports on Sunday, June 10 in a re-broadcast of Round 3 Racing action at the state-of-the-art Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Southern California.
CBS Sports will broadcast Pro 2 Unlimited Class racing action featuring Makita-backed drivers who are consistently pressing to the front of the pack.
Track Features “Matterhorn” Jump
The Rockstar Makita Pro 2 Unlimited teams of Rob MacCachren and "The General," Brian Deegan came to Lake Elsinore ready to take on one of the most challenging, state-of-the-art short course tracks in the history of four-wheeled off road racing. Obstacles such as the "Matterhorn", an enormous tabletop jump that launches the driver's side-by-side 120 feet through the air, and the 100+ mph straightaway are just two of the hazards presented by the Lake Elsinore track.
Makita-Backed Drivers
Brian Deegan and Rob MacCachren are both former champions and fierce competitors, so look for some intense door banging action out on the track. Other top drivers include the Makita backed Stronghold Motorsports team of 7-time Supercross Champ Jeremy McGrath and X Games Icon Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg, just to name a few.
The coverage will also feature a unique "behind the scenes" segment shot from the perspective of the competitors. And you might also see Makita power tools in action, as our tools can be found in the hands of skilled pit mechanics of top LOORRS race teams.
It’s part of CBS Sports’ coverage of the LOORRS Pro Lite and Pro 2 classes, scheduled to air every Sunday 8 p.m. ET and re-airing at 11 p.m. ET.
Tune in or set the DVR to catch all of the action on CBS Sports this Sunday, June 10 at 2 p.m. (ET). Don't miss it!
