GRAINGER NAMES MAKITA A “MOST INTERACTIVE” EXHIBITOR AT NATIONAL CONFERENCE

Award recognizes Makita for dynamic, hands-on trade show presence

The Makita booth featured hands-on demonstrations and a new cut-away display (above) highlighting 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Motor Technology.

MARCH 6, 2012 - La Mirada, Calif. – Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial strength power and results, was named a “Most Interactive” exhibitor at Grainger’s annual national sales conference in Orlando, FL.

The Makita booth featured a new cutaway display highlighting 18V LXT Brushless Motor Technology in a comparison to conventional motor models, as well as bold new graphics and hands-on tool demonstrations.

"The 2012 Grainger National Show is a great opportunity to engage Grainger's customers and sales team. With over 5,000 of Grainger's best customers and 4,000 Grainger attendees, the house was filled for their 2012 event in Orlando. This strong attendance is a clear indicator of Grainger's significant presence in the marketplace," said Brad Echols, Makita USA. "At Makita, our focus is innovation and best-in-class engineering, and we told our story on the show floor with dynamic graphics, interactive displays, and hands-on demonstrations. It's a tremendous honor to be recognized by Grainger with this award."

Hands-on and Interactive
The Grainger award is an indicator of Makita’s ongoing trade show strategy that emphasizes more than product displays and graphics.

“Makita Industrial Power Tools combine performance, power and results with superior comfort and ergonomics,” said Wayne Hart, Communications Manager, Makita USA.  “In the end they simply feel better, job after job. This is best demonstrated by not only showing the engineering inside the tool, but also letting dealers and end users try out key tools for themselves, even at a trade show.”

Makita puts this interactive and hands-on trade show strategy to work in both indoor and outdoor trade show environments, often to spectacular effect. At January’s World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas, Makita’s outdoor booth featured several tons of 4,000 PSI concrete, as well as wood frame and metal frame structures, brick walls, and more. The result was an interactive environment where dealers and end users could try out everything from Makita brushless motor impact drivers to 70-lb. breaker hammers.
