Pro contractors demanded more power and less weight from 18 volt tools.  So in 2006, Makita created the the 18V Compact Lithium-Ion category with the industry's first 18V Compact Driver-Drill (BDF452HW) and Impact Driver (BTD142HW). 

Today, Makita continues to innovate and expand the groundbreaking 18V Compact Lithium-Ion line-up with new tools and combo kits. 

Same Best-in-Class Performance
The latest additions include the new 18V Compact Driver-Drill (LXFD01CW) and new 18V Compact Impact Driver (LXDT04CW). Both tools are powered by Makita's 18V Compact Lithium-Ion battery, which reaches a full charge on the ENERGY STAR® qualified charger in only 15 minutes. The new 18V Compact Driver-Drill and Impact Driver are engineered for superior balance and control with improved ergonomics. Both tools deliver the performance and power-to-weight ratio required for a full range of drilling, driving and fastening applications.
