Makita-Backed Off-Road Team Revs Up for Rounds 11 and 12 of LOORRS

MacCachren, Deegan and LeDuc Prepare to face New Wild West Motorsports Park Track

Makita-backed Off-Road Drivers head to Wild West Motorsports Park in Reno

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) continues to break new ground and Makita Tools will be there in full force as the Makita-backed Off-Road Drivers head to Wild West Motorsports Park in Reno, Nevada for Rounds 11 and 12 of LOORRS at the inaugural Silver State Showdown.

The new one-mile natural terrain track is built into a local mountainside and features high-speed straightaways with speeds rumored to reach triple digits, enormous drops offs, and huge elevation changes that will push these incredible driver’s talents to the limit.

Rob MacCachren , the current series points leader in PRO 2, will look to put his veteran driving skills to work at this all new facility behind the wheel of his Rockstar Makita PRO 2 Unlimited Truck.  “It took a few weekends to learn exactly how to set this truck up,” stated MacCachren. “It is that different from the truck I was running last year. Now our team has it dialed in.” The results back up Rob Mac’s claim, with his team earning five podium finishes in the last seven rounds of racing. The consistent results have put MacCachren first in the series points with five races remaining, and he has no plans to give up the top spot.

It will not be easy, as Rockstar Makita Metal Mulisha’s Brian Deegan is hot on his heels. Deegan is the defending PRO 2 Champion and is currently second in the overall points standings. “The General” is coming off of a big victory this month at Glen Helen Raceway, and after the race Deegan had this to say: “It’s weekends like these that I really appreciate my crew and my sponsors. They had my back every step of the way, from no brakes to flat tires, and nothing could stop us. We were able to close down the points lead in Pro 2, and narrow the points gap to stay close in the championship battle.” Deegan will also be competing in the highly competitive PRO Lite Unlimited class in which he is also the defending champion.

After another successful weekend at Glen Helen, Todd LeDuc is also headed to Reno, NV with his eyes on the top spot of the podium in the PRO 4 Unlimited Class. At the last race, Todd was able to bring home a 2nd place finish on Saturday and then a 3rd place finish on Sunday to continue his impressive streak of podium finishes. Todd is currently second in the overall points standings and is looking to make up some valuable points this weekend. “Our only option in Reno is to apply as much pressure as we can and bring home some wins” said Todd LeDuc.

All of the door slamming action kicks off this weekend at Wild West Motorsports Park in Reno, NV.  If you are going to be in the Reno or Northern California area this weekend you won’t want to miss seeing these incredible drivers fly around this exciting new track. You can also catch all of the action on SPEED Channel, NBC Sports and CBS Sports.  Check your local TV broadcast schedule for dates and times.
