Recent 18V additions now available in select combo kits
Pro contractors demanded more power and less weight from cordless power tools. So in 2005 Makita created the industry’s first 18V Lithium-Ion line-up with the 18V LXT Series. Makita 18V LXT delivers more power and less weight in a more compact size, with a fast-charging 18V battery that reaches a full charge in only 30 minutes on the ENERGY STAR® qualified battery charger.
Contractors then demanded more compact tools with an even faster charge time, so in 2006 Makita created the industry’s first 18V Compact Lithium-Ion battery for a select group of new 18V compact cordless tools. Makita 18V Compact tools are distinguished by their black and white color and the compact battery’s fast charge time (only 15 minutes). Owners of 18V Compact tools have the option to run the full size 18V LXT battery on their 18V Compact tools for longer run time.
50+ Tools, with More on the Way
Today the Makita offers over 50 cordless tools powered by a fast-charging 18V Lithium-Ion battery, and more tools are on the way. Makita continues to innovate and expand its groundbreaking cordless line-up with new tools and combo kits.
New Cordless Solutions for Best-in-Class Performance
The latest additions for drilling, driving and fastening include the following:
- 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Impact Driver (LXDT04): The versatile LXDT04 delivers a full 1,420 in.lbs. of Max Torque and weighs only 3.3 lbs. Ideal for a range of fastening applications.
- 18V Compact Lithium-Ion Impact Driver (LXDT04CW): The compact version of the LXDT01, this versatile impact driver delivers a full 1,420 in.lbs. of Max Torque and weighs only 2.8 lbs.
- 18V LXT Lithium-Ion ½” Hammer Driver-Drill (LXPH01): Combines 480 in.lbs. of Max Torque in a compact size (weighs only 4.0 lbs.).
- 18V LXT Lithium-Ion ½” Hammer Driver-Drill (LXPH03): New high-torque hammer driver-drill delivers a full 750 in.lbs. of Max Torque. The LXPH03 is engineered with a 2-speed all metal transmission with 0-400 and 0-2,000 RPM, and weighs only 5.1 lbs. It is available in select 18V combo kits now, and will be available in September as a tool kit and bare tool.
New Cordless Tools Available in Kits, Combo Kits
Makita's new LXDT04 Impact Driver, LXPH01 Hammer Driver-Drill are each available in kit models (tool, 2 batteries, charger, case), and as a “bare tool” (tool only, no batteries or charger). The LXPH03 Hammer Driver-Drill will be available in similar configurations in September. The LXDT04CW Compact Impact Driver is available as a kit, but not as a bare tool.
