MALINOSKI POWERS HIS WAY TO X GAMES BRONZE

SCHUERING SPEED SPORTS MAKITA TAKES A PODIUM AT WINTER X GAMES

Robbie Malinoski used a combination of patience and aggression to battle his way on to the podium at Winter X 15. Racing at higher elevations can present multiple issues for both man and machine, but Malinoski’s superior fitness and an equally tuned AMSOIL/Rockstar/Air Force/Makita Ski-Doo leveled the playing field on a course that was longer and more demanding that any in X Games history.

Attendance records fell on a daily basis as over 114,000 made their way into Aspen’s Snomass ski area during the four day event. Over 33,000 alone were on hand for Sunday’s snocross final.

At the start of the main event, Malinoski was caught in a large group as they funneled into the first turn. “It was a crazy start. Ross Martin jumped, then a bunch of guys jumped and I didn’t know what was going to happen,” said Malinoski. “The first half of the race was complete chaos. Everybody was going for it and it was pretty intense.”

By the midway point Malinoski had worked to fifth and was reeling in a pair of Arctic Cat riders. “Once I got to those guys, I knew I just had to put in work and get it done.” After passing the two and gaining a podium position, Malinoski pulled within site of second place and was steadily gaining as time ran out.

It was a great week for the team as we made additional strides on set-up and performance and continue to build momentum for the number four sled as we head into the grueling portion of the national series schedule.

Up next is Round 4 of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series in Farmington, NY
