MAKITA NAMED "BEST" IN TEST OF 8 TOP AIR COMPRESSORS

Toolmonger.com calls MAC2400 "The Sweetest Compressor"

Toolmonger.com, the web's first tool blog, rounded up 8 portable shop compressors from Bosch, Bostitch, Campbell Hausfeld, DeWalt, Hitachi, Makita, Porter Cable, and Ridgid.  They compared the models based on price, noise, weight, fill time, oil vs. oil free operation, and tank material.  Then they powered up and evaluated their performance.

In the end, the Makita 2.5 HP Air Compressor (MAC2400) was named Best Overall.

Toolmonger seemed to like everything about it, from the large air filter and lever bleed valve to the low noise and 4.2 CFM.  They even liked the handle. They called the MAC2400 "the sweetest compressor taken as a whole" and, in closing, enthused "For those folks looking for the best without compromise -- this is it."

While other manufacturers continue to focus on the lower-priced, light-duty category, Makita offers industrial quality air compressors built for all-day professional use.  The MAC2400 and the rest of Makita's compressor line-up features durable cast iron (not aluminum) cylinder pumps, industrial motors for more power and increased efficency for lower RPM and lower noise, and a Big Bore™ piston for faster recovery.  For more on Makita's air compressor line-up -- including the MAC700, MAC2400, and MAC5200 -- go here.

Toolmonger rounded up 8 top air compressors, left, and selected the Makita MAC2400 as Best Overall.

Makita compressors are engineered with a Big Bore™ piston for faster recovery.
