The Pro Super Stock main event was put on delay Saturday night as literally thousands of
spectators lined up to get into the Pontiac Silverdome. The former home of the Detroit Lions was transformed into a snocross arena, as the gladiators of the AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series battled in one of the most heated events of the year. With over 17,000 on hand, the return to indoor stadium racing was a huge success.
Robbie Malinoski put in the ride of the season in the Pro Open class, holding of the series point leader for the third spot on the podium. Malinoski had consistent finishes in Pro Super Stock qualifying and transferred to the Pro Open final by winning the last chance qualifier. As a result of his podium finish, Malinoski now sits just 12 points out of the number three spot in the Open class.
Semi-Pro racer Darrin Mees just missed the podium with a fourth place in his final. Mees has now moved to within 8 points of third in the overall standings and is closing on the leader.
The team was again part of several off-track promotions with Traxxas, as well as making local school visits in conjunction with the Air Force.
This week the team is in Valcourt, Quebec, home of BRP and Ski-doo snowmobiles for the historical Le Grand Prix Ski-doo de Valcourt, before resuming the ACSS tour on March 5-6 in Hayward, Wisconsin.
