MAKITA'S GROWING LINE-UP OF HAMMERS FEATURING AVT NOW AT 7

Makita's exclusive Anti-Vibration Technology is engineered inside the tool for less vibration

NOVEMBER 10 2011 - LA MIRADA, CA - Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial strength power and results, is delivering concrete hammers equipped with the company’s exclusive Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT). AVT is an exclusive counterbalance system that greatly reduces vibration for increased user comfort and greater productivity.

“Makita hammers equipped with Anti Vibration Technology (AVT) are truly best-in-class,” said Adam Livingston, Makita Product Manager, Commercial and Industrial Products. “Makia AVT is not a padded or detached spring-loaded handle. It’s a true active counterbalance system engineered into the tool, driven by the motor, to more effectively reduce vibration. The result is improved performance of the tool and the experience of the tool user.”

About Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT)
Makita has adapted the science of earthquake engineering into power tools with Makita’s Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT). AVT is an exclusive counterbalance design that provides the professional a power tool solution with less vibration, less noise and more efficient power.  Seismic research has developed this damping science over years to absorb the shocks and protect buildings from devastation of earthquake vibrations. Makita’s exclusive AVT involves engineering where a mechanical damper, effectively a counter balance weight, provides an equal and opposite force that puts a mass directly opposite the point at which the striker bolt delivers the impact. As vibration is eliminated power is efficiently increased, allowing more of the generated energy in the motor to be delivered to the tool bit.

AVT is clearly demonstrated in model HM1810, the 70 lb. Breaker that is for heavy demolition applications.  Model HM1810 combines hard hitting power with less vibration (only 8 m/s²), with a powerful Makita-built 15 AMP motor, 1,100 BPM, 63 joules of impact energy, with a reduced noise level of only 107 dB.
