MAKITA IMPACT DRIVER TAKES A BIG DROP -- AND KEEPS RUNNING

California contractor tells us about his experience with the Makita BTD141

Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver (BTD141)

Busy Bee Electric, a Murrieta, California-based electrical contractor, sent us an email with a story about their Makita 18V Impact Driver (BTD141).  Apparently a member of the Busy Bee crew on a lift dropped a BTD141 -- and it kept running.

Here's an excerpt from the email we received from Busy Bee yesterday afternoon:

"Recently my company was given the contract to change The City of Murrieta's parking lot lights to LED's. There was three of us working on this project and of course we were using Makita drills. While we were changing one of the lights 30' up in the air one of my employees dropped my Makita "18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver Kit Model: BTD141" off the lift and on to the sidewalk below. I was furious and he immediately apologized and said he would replace it. But when we got down we found the drill was OK the battery had been knocked out but I clipped it back in and everything worked perfectly. We both stood their laughing and he said he is now a believer too and will now only buy Makita products.

I write this letter because in today’s market of product to few companies build a product to last, they're all looking to make a quick buck. I run a small company of quality over quantity and I’m glad to see a least one big corporation out there that still believes in making a quality product. So in conclusion I just want to say keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing what you guys will be doing next."

In 2005 Makita delivered the industry's first 18V Lithium-Ion line-up, and today there are 40+ cordless tools powered by ONE 18V LIthium-Ion battery.  Makita 18V is a favorite among pro contractors for the superior power-to-weight ratio, fast charge time, long run time, and the broad range of cordless options.  It's also a favorite because each Makita tool is engineered for the punishing conditions of a job site -- just ask the crew at Busy Bee Electric!
