Tools of the Trade calls Makita LXDT01 their "Overall Favorite" out of a 18 Impact Drivers tested

Tools of the Trade magazine rounded up EIGHTEEN 18-volt lithium-ion cordless impact drivers, and gave them to a contractor to test them out. Then they published the results in their Fall 2011 issue.
In the end, the Makita 18V LXT Brushless Motor Cordless 3-Speed Impact Driver (LXDT01) came out on top as their "Overall Favorite."
The reviewer liked the LXDT01's combination of power, run time, compact size, and ergonomics. He also noted that the cordless motor is smaller, more efficient, and more durable because there are no brushes or commutator to wear out.
