JLC Magazine covered the repair and restoration of a 100-year-old porch in their March 2011 issue.
The Journal of Light Construction (JLC) Magazine covered an ambitious porch rebuild in their March 2011 issue, and Makita tools were on the job.
The repair and restoration of the front porch on the 100-year old house in Medford, Mass. was taken on by Silva Lightning Builders. The crew used the Makita 7-1/4" Magnesium Circular Saw (5007MG) with a carbide tipped blade for various cutting tasks, including trim work on the bottom ends of the new composite-material columns. And the new 12V max Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver (DT01W, pictured) was put to work on a range of fastening tasks, including rail assemblies and pedestals.
Makita's 5007MG is engineered with Magnesium components and a 15 AMP motor for a high power-to-weight ratio -- it's the most refined saw on the market. And the new DT01W Impact Driver delivers 800 in.lbs. of Max Torque, yet it weighs only 2.0 lbs. The DT01W is part of Makita's growing 12V max Lithium-Ion cordless line-up, with more solutions on the way.
