On Saturday June 14, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), Speed TV will air a new reality TV show "Ricky Carmichael: NEXT" based on the everyday life of Motocross and Supercross legend and Makita Suzuki team rider Ricky Carmichael and his pursuit to make his name also known in NASCAR. The show will also re-air on Sunday, June 28, 2008 at 12:30 A.M. (Eastern Standard Time).
"Ricky Carmichael: NEXT" will take fans where they have never gone before, inviting viewers to the home of Ricky Carmichael and providing a look at what he and his family go through as the 15-time champion leaves his high flying career in an effort to make it at all costs in the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing.
Carmichael, also known as “The GOAT” (Greatest Of All Time), retired from full-time racing at the end of the 2007 Motocross Season. As an amateur he was signed by Roger DeCoster to the then Makita Suzuki Racing and competed with the team until he left full-time Motocross and Supercross racing last year.
NEXT also features a segment on Ricky Carmichael officially breaking the world record for step up with a 36-foor leap off a jump at the recent Moto X Games in San Diego.
Tune into Speed for Next on Friday, June 14, 2008 at 6:30 P.M. Ricky Carmichael pieced together the greatest single Motocross career in history with a will of iron and a spirit of determination. NEXT will show just how far these attributes can Carmichael in an automobile.
