At San Diego, it was another win for the points leader. And a battle is shaping up in the Supercross Lites class.
Chad Reed of Team San Manuel won his fourth consecutive Monster Energy Supercross race of the season at Qualcomm Stadium in front of 64,251. Reed crashed once but rallied for the win. With this victory, Reed achieved a personal goal of winning all of the races in California venues this season.
In the Lites class, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., was the points leader, but a series of crashes set him back. He finished sixth at Qualcomm and is second overall to Yamaha of Troy’s Jason Lawrence, of Carlsbad, Calif. Lawrence won his third consecutive Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class race and advanced into the championship points lead.
The San Diego race aired on CBS Sports on Sunday, February 10, and the AMA Supercross Lites class will air on SPEED February 15 at Noon EST.
Racing returns next Saturday, February 16 at Houston’s Reliant Stadium.
