Makita’s hard-hitting 70-pound breaker hammer (model HM1810) was judged best by Tools of the Trade Magazine, as reported in their March/April 2008 issue.
Tools of the Trade reviewed five breaker hammers in the heavyweight (60-70 pound) category, including Bosch (model 11304K), DeWalt (D25980K), Hitachi (H90SEKIT4), and Wacker (EH27), as well as Makita’s HM1810. Naming Makita the top choice, the tool tester “enjoyed the superior vibration control” of the HM1810, and noted “almost no felt vibration during use.”
The superior vibration control and efficient power of the HM1810 can be attributed to Makita’s exclusive
Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT). AVT is a counter-balance system that reduces vibration so more power in the motor is delivered to the tool bit, not the user. This improves the performance of the tool and improves the experience of the tool user.
Makita’s 35-pound demolition hammer (model
HM1304B) was also named the top product in the medium-weight category for its “good power and easy-to-use features.”
Makita has over 25 industrial-quality rotary, demolition and breaker
hammer products, from the smallest rotary hammer on the market (11/16” SDS-PLUS, model
HR1830F) to the 70-pound HM1810, with a full range of SDS-MAX, SDS-PLUS and Spline-shank compatible models. Makita growing line of AVT-equipped products includes four rotary hammers and one breaker hammer.
