New PC5000C ideal for smoothing concrete surfaces, leveling concrete seams
JULY 6, 2009 – La Mirada, Calif. – Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial strength power and results, is proud to announce the release of its new 5” Concrete Planer, model PC5000C. This new concrete planer combines power with ease-of-use features, and is ideal for a range of concrete finish work that requires dust collection for cleaner operation.

10 AMP Power
The PC5000C has a Makita-built 10 AMP motor with soft start technology for smooth start-ups. The electronic speed control dial allows the user to set the speed to the application, and the electronic current limiter protects the motor from overloading. The dust bag is easily installed and removed for cleaner operation. The PC5000C also includes a vacuum port, and a removable dust shroud cap that allows the tool to plane in corners and against walls.
Ease-of-Use Features
The PC5000C weighs 8.9 lbs. and is just 17” long with an ergonomic soft grip with large easy-to-operate trigger switch with lock-on function for greater comfort, as well as a loop side handle for improved handling. The L.E.D. power light serves as a pilot light as well as an indicator of the anti-restart function.
Smooth Operation
The PC5000C is engineered to smooth concrete seams, remove epoxy from concrete, remove trip hazards from concrete, and more. It’s ideal for masons, remodelers, city maintenance crews, concrete finishers, and general contractors seeking a best-in-class industrial quality concrete planer.
