DJ Eckstrom Ties for Top Qualifier in Pro Open. Finishes in top Five.

Shaun Crapo ties for Top Qualifier in Pro Stock

A crowd of over 30,000 die hard race fans were on hand at Bombardier’s home track, as the manufacturer celebrated it’s 50th anniversary.

Still recovering from a torn MCL in his knee, DJ Eckstrom was back on track and ready to go racing. In Pro Open action, DJ smoked the competition in his preliminary heat and tied for top qualifier honors. DJ came out strong in the main event running second in the early stages. As the race continued it was obvious DJ was still not 100% and the last few laps really tested his knee strength after not being on a sled for a few weeks. The Duluth, Minnesota rider was able to hang in there and finished with a fifth place finish.

In Pro Stock, Shaun Crapo continued his strong mid-season performance with a win in his heat and also tied as top qualifier. In the final Shaun was hit from behind in the first corner and could only recover to ninth place before the checkered flag dropped.

Semi Pro rider Ryan Carey continues to progress and
consistently make main events. In Canada, he was able to advance through a field of over fifty drivers and post a 12th place finish in the final.
