New RP0900K engineered for detailed routing tasks
OCTOBER 5, 2009 La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high quality industrial power tools and accessories, is proud to announce the release of a new best-in-class 1-1/4 HP Plunge Router, model RP0900K. The new plunge router adds to Makita’s growing line of woodworking and finish tools, and is engineered to deliver smooth routing performance required in detailed routing including fine woodworking and decorative applications.
“Detailed routing demands high RPM in a more compact size,” said Joe Soto, Makita’s product manager – residential and pneumatics. “The new RP0900K delivers 27,000 RPM and a range of ease-of-use features with less weight for smooth routing and a precision finish.”
The RP0900K features an 8 AMP motor with 27,000 RPM. It has a 0” – 1-3/8” plunge depth capacity for easy penetration into the work piece, with a plunge depth adjustment lever with three preset depth stops for added precision. The RP0900K is engineered with oversized ball bearing construction for longer tool life. Ease-of-use features include a durable flat top design for added convenience when changing bits, easy-to-read depth scales, and rubberized contoured handles with built-in switch for better fit and control.
The RP0900K uses ¼” shank router bits, and is engineered for fine woodworking, cabinetry, furniture making, counter tops, decking, windows and doors, and general carpentry, and is especially suited for decorative routing applications. It is ideal for professional woodworkers, furniture makers, professional craftsmen, cabinet makers, deck builders, boat builders, and general contractors seeking a best in class 1-1/4 HP plunge router.
