Rockstar Makita Suzuki is focusing on the 2010 AMA Supercross season opener on January 8 in Anaheim. The 2010 season will mark the sixth straight year of partnership between Makita and Suzuki.
For impatient race fans waiting for the season to start, CBS Sports will air a one-hour season preview of the 2010 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, Saturday, December 26 at 2:30 p.m. EST.
Ryan Dungey (top right) will lead Rockstar Makita Suzuki into Anaheim for the season opener. In 2009 he was crowned AMA West Coast SX Lites Champion as well as AMA 250 Motocross Champion. Dungey also placed first in the MX1/Open class at the Motocross of Nations in Italy, and helped Team USA place first in the event. For 2010, Dungey will move up to race the Suzuki RM-Z450 in the AMA Supercross class, as well as the AMA Motocross 450 class in the summer session.
Joining Dungey on Rockstar Makita Suzuki Racing will be Matt Moss (mid-right) and Austin Stroupe (bottom-right). Moss is a double champion in his home country of Australia and truly fierce on his Suzuki. In 2009, Moss, one of the fastest stars of the Australian off-road racing scene, spearheaded Team Shift Motul Suzuki’s Pro Lites campaign. He won the Australian National Motocross Pro Lites championship along with the Australasian Supercross Pro Lites championship.
Austin Stroupe is the proud owner of a stellar amateur track record, racking up over 30 amateur motocross national titles before turning pro. Stroupe raced in the AMA Supercross Lites West Region Series in 2008, earning a win at Houston, Texas, and took two additional podium finishes. He raced a limited AMA Motocross Lites Championship, but won the San Bernardino, California, race and earned a podium finish at the Wortham, Texas round.
