MEXICO ADVANCES TO WORLD CUP 2010 "FMF" Survives Qualifying Matches, Looks Ahead to South Africa

The Mexican National Soccer Team (Federacion Mexicana de Fútbol, or FMF) is headed to South Africa in June for World Cup 2010.

After an amazing comeback during the qualifying matches, Mexico, qualified for its fifth straight World Cup, and became the first nation in North and Central America and the Caribbean to secure a World Cup berth. Out of 204 countries Mexico is one of 32 countries that qualified for World Cup.

Mexico will open the World Cup against the host South Africa, on June 11 at 10 a.m. EST in Johannesburg. They will have four days in between games before meeting up with France, on June 16 in Polokwane and will close out the group stage with a matchup against South American rivals Uruguay, on June 22 in Rustenburg.
Mexico will be in Group A for the World Cup along with South Africa, France and Uruguay. Amongst Mexico’s pool, Mexico needs to make sure they are the top two teams in their group to advance to the play offs.
