BLACK STALLION BACK IN CANADA

The Stallion team traveled to Barrie ON on Thursday to do a press conference to promote the show on Saturday night.  The press conference was held with the local newspaper in attendance “The Barrie Examiner.”  After Michael Vaters performed a car crush for a photo shoot with the paper Mikey Vaters Jr. got behind the wheel to get some air over the cars.  Except for loading and unloading the Stallion from the hauler this was his first time driving and he made Dad very proud.

The arena in Sudbury on Friday night was sold out as the crowds packed into the stands.  The Black Stallion competed against Monster Jam World Champion Jim Koehler in Avenger, Chris Bergeron in Brutus and Steve Hurley driving Iron Warrior.  Steve is driving for Trey Myers as he travels throughout Europe in the European Monster Jam tour driving the team’s Psycho Jet Powered 4-Wheeler.  The show was rounded out by a freestyle motocross exhibition, pro-street bike stunts, lawn mower racing and Michael Vaters’ Kamikaze Jet Powered 4-Wheeler thrilling the crowd with burner pops, flame show and speed runs.

Jim Koehler took the win hands down driving the Avenger in the wheelie contest.  Michael Vaters drove the Black Stallion to its’ limits in the freestyle competition.  He put some major air under the truck and cleared all the cars landing at the other end of the arena.  In his big final jump the Stallion came down on the left front wheel bending the bead lock and rim and then Vaters drove into a big donut while the left front tire continued to lose air.  When the Stallion finally came to a sliding stop the tire was flat and the crowd went crazy with excitement.  The freestyle win went to Michael Vaters in the Black Stallion.

The Black Stallion racing team then traveled back to Barrie Ontario at the Molson Centre with the same group of competitors from Sudbury.  The arena was packed with excited monster truck fans at the sold out show.  Avenger soared his way to the win in the wheelie contest beating out Brutus who came in second.  In the first round of racing Vaters in the Black Stallion took the win over Brutus and Avenger took out the Iron Warrior.  In the Finals Michael Vaters beat the Monster Jam World Champion Avenger and came away with the racing win.  Vaters kept up the tempo from racing into the freestyle competition getting so much air under the Black Stallion that he almost took out the low hanging scoreboard in the arena.

Michael Vaters and the Black Stallion crew will be doing a benefit car show on June 14th for two local teens Josh Forsythe and Katie Stains who have bone cancer.  The Black Stallion, Iron Warrior along with Jay Snyder in the Screamin’ Demon will be on display at the Washington County Agricultural Center in Hagerstown MD.  Dave Waple will be bringing the Black Jack monster ride truck to give monster rides.  The “Cruise-In for Kids” is presented by a local car club “Rt 40 Kruisers for Kids.”  Along with the car show there will be live bands, entertainment for the kids and great food.

The Black Stallion team then travels back to Canada for shows in Sarnia ON, Ottawa ON and Trois Rivierre QC June 19-21.  Trey will be home from Europe for the Car Show benefit and will be back behind the wheel of the Iron Warrior for the last leg of the Monster Spectacular tour in Canada.
