MAKITA INTRODUCES 18V LXT CORDLESS RATCHET

The interchangeable 3/8-inch and 1/4-inch sq. drive ratchet is the latest product in Makita's automotive line-up

February 16, 2021, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., the innovation leader in cordless power tool technology, is excited to announce the new 18V LXT^® Cordless 3/8” / 1/4” Sq. Drive Ratchet (XRW01). This cordless ratchet is ideal for the automotive professional and auto enthusiast, allowing them to attach or remove nuts faster. The XRW01 is two tools in one with interchangeable 3/8” and 1/4” anvils (included).

This ratchet features interchangeable 3/8” and 1/4” anvils for versatility. Operator fatigue is reduced due to the lightweight, ergonomic design. The low-profile design provides improved handling in tight spaces and for overhead applications.

“Why buy two ratchets when you can have one? This dual-purpose ratchet is an industry first with two anvils that can be quickly changed out,” said Carlos Quintana, senior product manager, cordless tools, Makita U.S.A. “It has 35 ft.lbs. of fastening torque, yet it can deliver up to 800 RPM, the most in its class. No other cordless ratchet on the market today has this combination of torque, speed and versatility.”

The forward and reverse toggle on the ratchet head allows for one-handed adjustments and will be familiar to users of professional-class hand-ratchets. An added convenience feature is the electric brake which allows for faster transition to the next fastening task.

Other features include an electric brake provides increased productivity and a built-in L.E.D. light to illuminate the work area.

For improved tool performance and extended battery life, the ratchet features Star Protection Computer Controls^™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita^® 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.

The new XRW01 is the latest addition to the expanding range of 18V cordless products exclusive for automotive.
