MAKITA EXPANDS NEW 40V | 80V MAX XGT SYSTEM

New cordless rotary hammer, miter saw, impact wrench, vacuum, outdoor power equipment, and dual port charger are additions to the expanding XGT System

August 2, 2021, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., the leader in cordless power tool innovation, has launched 10 new products and accessories in the 40V max and 80V max XGT^® System, including new solutions for concrete, carpentry, and more. The XGT System is a cordless system of equipment and tools designed to handle high-demand applications.

“The XGT system gives users more cordless solutions for applications that were previously dominated by corded and gas-powered products,” said Mario Lopez, director of product management, Makita U.S.A., Inc. “This power can be seen with existing XGT products such as the 28-pound demolition hammer, and new products like the two-inch rotary hammer and ten-inch miter saw. Makita will continue to provide exciting new solutions as the XGT system continues to expand.”

Commercial Construction

80V max (40V X2) XGT Brushless 2” AVT Rotary Hammer (GRH06) – The rotary hammer is a cordless concrete solution designed for heavy-load applications. It delivers the power, speed, and run-time for corded demands, without the cord. The GRH06 is powered by two 40V max lithium-ion batteries, with an 80V brushless motor that delivers up to 27% faster drilling performance than an equivalent corded model. It is also equipped with Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT^®) for reduced vibration. This rotary hammer accepts SDS max bits.

Residential Construction

40V max XGT Brushless 10” Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw (GSL03) –The new XGT Miter Saw delivers faster cutting than corded miter saws. It cuts up to 6-5/8" crown molding (vertically nested) and 5-1/4" baseboard (vertical). It miters 0-60° left and right and bevels 0-48° left and right. An L.E.D. light casts a shadow of the saw blade onto the material for an exact cutting line. The rail-forward design maximizes workspace when up against a wall. The quickly adjustable fence and extension wings provide material support.

Fastening

40V max XGT Brushless 4-Speed Mid-Torque ½” Sq. Drive Impact Wrench with Friction Ring Anvil (GWT07) or Detent Anvil (GWT08) – These mid-torque impact wrenches provide improved fastening control and are ideal for automotive, installation, and fabrication trades. They deliver 810 ft.lbs. of Nut-Busting Torque and 560 ft.lbs. of Fastening Torque. Precise fastening control is achieved through the 4-speed power selection switch, which accounts for a wide range of applications. Additional precision features include three forward and three reverse rotation auto-stop modes, and a full-speed mode function that reduces the trigger pull to reach full speed.

Cleaning Solutions

40V max XGT Brushless 4-Speed Compact Vacuum (GLC01) – The GLC01 vacuum is compact and powerful with strong suction for fast and efficient cleaning in commercial or residential settings. It delivers up to 42 CFM and 84” static water lift. It will run up to 80 minutes on a single charge of a 40V max XGT 2.5Ah Battery. The vacuum has a quiet operating sound level of 65dB(A) on high and only 54dB(A) on low.

Outdoor Power Equipment

40V max XGT Brushless Couple Shaft (GUX01) – The couple shaft power head with the string trimmer attachment (included in GUX01ZX1 kit) delivers the power of a 30cc gas string trimmer. The GUX01 is compatible with a range of couple shaft attachments currently available (sold separately). A variable speed trigger controls cutting speed with three speed options (4,200, 6,000, and 7,100 RPM), allowing users to match power and speed to the changing demands of the application. The power head also features IPX4-rated weather-resistant construction and Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) for added durability.

40V max XGT Brushless 24” Hedge Trimmer (GHU02) – The 24” hedge trimmer has a dual-action double-sided shear blade for optimal performance. It delivers up to 5,000 SPM for high speed and faster trimming. This hedge trimmer has three speed options to manage power and run time. This hedge trimmer will cut hedges, vines, and leaves and run up to 6 hours on a single charge of a 40V max XGT 4.0Ah Battery.

40V max XGT Brushless 30” Hedge Trimmer (GHU03) – The 30” hedge trimmer also has a dual-action double-sided shear blade for optimal performance. It delivers up to 5,000 SPM for high speed and faster trimming. This hedge trimmer also has three speed options to manage power and run time. With a longer blade, this hedge trimmer delivers up to 4 hours of run time on a single charge of a 40V max XGT 4.0Ah Battery.

40V max XGT Brushless 24” Rough Cut Hedge Trimmer (GHU01) – The new 24” rough cut hedge trimmer has a sharp-edged shear blade to cut through thick and hard branches, as well as hedges, vines and leaves. It features higher torque and a heavier blade to cut thicker branches. The GHU01 delivers up to 4,000 SPM and has three speed options. It will run up to 4 hours on a single charge of a 40V max XGT 4.0Ah Battery.

Accessories

40V max XGT Dual Port Rapid Charger (DC40RB) – The 40V max XGT Dual Port Rapid Optimum Charger (DC40RB) charges two 40V max XGT Batteries at the same time, so their batteries spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. The charger is equipped with three fans which circulate air through the battery and circuit board for faster charging. The charger communicates with the battery's built-in chip throughout the charging process to optimize battery life by actively controlling current, voltage and temperature. The result is category-leading charge times: two 40V max XGT 2.5Ah Batteries in only 28 minutes; two 40V max XGT 4.0Ah Batteries in only 45 minutes; two 40V max XGT 5.0Ah Batteries in only 50 minutes.

XGT is a system of equipment, tools, batteries, and chargers utilizing 40V max lithium-ion batteries.
