MAKITA RELEASES TWO NEW MAGNETIC WORK LIGHTS

New Magnetic Work Lights for both the LXT® and XGT® Platform

May 5, 2026, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools, power equipment, and accessories, has released two powerful and portable magnetic work lights for the LXT® and the XGT® platforms. Both the DML819 and the ML013G gives users high illumination, long run time, and feature white L.E.D.s that effectively illuminate the work area without the high heat of halogens.

“Makita has an extensive line of lighting options, and the new Magnetic Work Light for both the LXT® and the XGT® platforms offers users an option for their system of choice,” said Robert Monroe, product manager, drilling, fastening, and expansion, Makita U.S.A., Inc. “The two new Magnetic Lights allow users to mount the base to any ferrous metal and position the light in a variety of angles for more illumination.”

18V LXT® L.E.D Magnetic Work Light (DML819) - Delivers up to 22 hours of continuous illumination on the low setting, with a 6.0Ah 18V LXT® battery (battery sold separately)
40V max XGT® L.E.D. Magnetic Work Light (ML0136) - Delivers up to 35 hours of continuous illumination on low, with a 5.0Ah 40V max XGT® battery (battery sold separately)

Additional Features

Both the DML819 and the ML013G feature a foldable, rotating L.E.D. light that provides up to 180° vertical and 300° horizontal swivel for maximum illumination. They also feature a magnet cover that slides easily on and off to deactivate the magnets when not in use. The two new Magnetic Work Lights feature 3-power settings that deliver 1,200 lumens on high, 800 lumens on medium, and 500 lumens on low.

Convenience Features

Convenience features include a top hook that extends for additional hanging and positioning flexibility, an Auto-Off mode that automatically shuts the light off when L.E.D. head is closed to preserve the battery, and a rigid handle that allows for easy removal even when magnets are fully engaged.

XGT® is a system of equipment, tools, batteries, and chargers utilizing 40V max lithium-ion batteries.
