October 21, 2026, Louisville, KY – Makita continues to expand its system of professional outdoor power equipment with 10+ new products to debut this week in Louisville at Equip Expo, the green industry’s largest annual trade show.

Three Systems of Professional Power Equipment

Attendees at Equip Expo will see new and existing commercial equipment and tools across Makita’s three battery-powered systems:

XGT® 40V max | 80V max: Makita’s most powerful handheld solution, with more cordless equipment and tools engineered for applications that traditionally use cords, gas or air (170+ Products, One System). The expanding system includes a full range of products for commercial-duty mowing, trimming, cutting, clean-ups, and more.
ConnectX™ 36V | 40V max: A run-time and power solution for professional landscapers seeking a gas replacement. The ConnectX™ 1,200 and 1,500 watt hour batteries are compatible with ConnectX™ products, as well as 40V max XGT® and 36V (18V X2) LXT® products when used with an adapter.
LXT® 18V | 36V: The world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18V batteries (350+ Products, One System) includes an expansive range of 18V and 36V mowers, trimmers, blowers, chain saws, and more.

Demonstrations of Key Products

This week at Equip Expo, the Makita booth will have over 200 square feet of wall space displaying the expanding system of battery-powered solutions for mowing, cutting, trimming, clean-ups, and more. In addition, the Makita booth features five key product demonstrations.

CLEAN UPS: Makita is highlighting its new 40V max XGT® Backpack Blower with the category’s leading power-to-weight ratio. A new demo will provide a clear demonstration of this advantage with users encouraged to use the Makita blower and competitive models to move a 5-pound piece of masonry up a steel ramp.
CUTTING: Three XGT® chain saws will making fast cuts in 12” diameter yellow pine, including two models making their debut at Equip Expo: The new 40V max XGT® 14” Top Handle Chain Saw (GCU10) and 40V max XGT® 18” Rear Handle Chain Saw (GCU11).
POWER MANAGEMENT: A four-shelf charging station will demonstrate how pros can charge batteries for 4 fleet trucks with just 2 circuits in one night, an important demonstration for owner-operators of independent mow-and-blow businesses, as well as commercial enterprises.
STORAGE: MAKTRAK™ is the next generation in modular storage, and attendees at Equip Expo will be the first to see new components for superior transport, access, storage and organization.
ELECTRIFICATION OF GAS EQUIPMENT: The 40V max XGT® Motor Unit is a fully electric, drop-in solution engineered to deliver the performance of 25cc to 50cc gas engines. Designed with seamless OEM integration in mind, the XGT® Motor Unit provides original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with a faster path to electrification across a wide range of commercial applications. Equip Expo attendees will see the XGT® Motor Unit powering a tiller in an 8’ x 6’ box full of fill dirt in the booth.
