MAKITA RELEASES NEW VIBRATORY SCREED POWER HEAD

Concrete pros have a cordless solution for floating and screeding on the XGT® platform

September 1, 2026, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools, power equipment, and accessories, has released the new 40V max XGT® Vibratory Screed Power Head (VL001G). The Power Head pairs with 3 ft., 4-1/2 ft. or 6 ft. vibratory screed bars (screed bars sold separately) for floating and screeding concrete with 11,000 VPM (vibrations per minute) for faster leveling and improved compaction.

“The new Vibratory Screed Power Head is designed to bring the productivity of a power screed to smaller concrete pours where maneuverability and ease of use are critical,” said Nicole Tougas, senior product manager for commercial products, Makita U.S.A., Inc. “What makes it unique is its ability to both screed and float concrete, giving contractors the flexibility to level and smooth fresh concrete with one compact, battery-powered solution. It’s ideal for sidewalks, patios, driveways, steps, and residential slabs.”

Run Time and Lightweight Screed Bar

The Vibratory Screed Power Head features lightweight aluminum screed bars that deliver uniform end-to-end vibration and efficient consolidation (screed bars sold separately) while the lightweight design helps reduce the fatigue and physical demands associated with traditional hand screeding. The VL001GZ delivers over two hours of run time with a fully-charged 40V max XGT® 4.0Ah High Power Battery (battery sold separately).

Convenience Features

Convenience features include a lever-style lock system that allows for quick tool-less installation of screed bars (screed bars sold separately), a lock-on button for user comfort during continuous operation, and a rubber grip that reduces vibration during operation. The VL001GZ also features a battery cover that protects against concrete intrusion.
