Both nailers combine rugged construction and ease-of-use with safety features for reliable, robust performance.
“The AN923 and AN943 nailers are designed to be durable and maintenance-free, and improve the productivity of framers, roofers, and carpenters,” said Roderick Dick, Makita product manager. “These new work-horses are a big part of Makita’s pneumatics line.”
Both tools feature a 3-mode selector switch (bump, sequential, lock), allowing the professional trade user to easily control nailing options, while the “tool-less” depth adjustment offers nine settings to drive nails to a precise level on the wood’s surface. The built-in air filter minimizes
dust and debris from entering, and when the pressurized hose is released, back pressure clears debris out of the tool. To prevent dry-firing, both nailers stop when only three nails remain in the high-capacity rear-loading magazine. The two-step loading procedure ensures a fast re-load with minimal downtime.
In addition to these performance features, both nailers are durable and easy to use. The large capacity air chamber is built for increased power, yet is compact enough to fit between standard 16” framing studs. The sharp, pronounced spurs on the nose grip wood prevent slipping and ensure controlled firing, even at an angle. The rubber hand-grips provide better control and comfortable handling, and the retractable sky hook keeps the tool close by but never in the way.
The AN923 and AN943 both operate with a wide spectrum of nails at 65 -120 PSI. These versatile tools are built for framing walls, floors, and roofs, construction of sub-flooring, roof and floor decking, floor and wall sheating/siding, and more.
The AN923 accepts full round-head nails, 2” - 3-1/2”, with .113 - .162 shank diameter (plastic or wire collated). The AN943 accepts clipped nails 2” - 3-1/2”, with .113 - .131 shank diameter (paper collated). Both tools include the nailer, oil supply, safety goggles, and sky hook.
