Makita’s JR3070CT Recip Saw with Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT), came out on top in a review of products from eight different manufacturers, which appeared in the magazine\'s December 2007 issue. The review evaluated blade clamps, weight/balance, and vibration control, and also included timed tests of straight and orbital cutting through wood and metal materials. The overall favorite was picked based on how well the saw cut, the overall balance, and how easy it was to change the blade. On-the-job testing was conducted by an independent contractor in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The reviewer picked the Makita recip saw for its “speed, balance, comfort of use, and excellent blade clamp.”
