November 17, 2020, La Mirada, CA – Makita USA, Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools and accessories, announced the launch of the18V LXT® Brushless Cut-Out Tool, AWS™ Capable (XOC02Z). This cut-out tool is ideal for drywall installers, electricians, plumbers, and general construction for cutting drywall, tile, wood, thin metal, and fiberglass.
The XOC02 can cut up to two layers of ½” drywall sheets. The Makita-built BL™ Brushless Motor delivers 32,000 RPM for faster cutting. It accepts both 1/8” and ¼” bits.
It is the world’s first AWS-capable cordless cut-out tool. With the Auto-Start Wireless Transmitter (198901-5, sold separately), the cut-out tool can connect to an AWS-equipped dust extractor/vacuum for wireless power-on/power-off to help reduce dust in the work environment.
Other features include a tool-less depth adjustment, twin L.E.D. lights to illuminate the work area, electric brake, a slide switch with lock-on for convenience, and vent slots to direct air and debris away from the operator.
