With power equivalent to a 30cc gas string trimmer, the XRU18 is ideal for the professional landscaper to use for aggressive applications, such as cutting brush and tall weeds.

Its exclusive Makita-built outer rotor brushless motor direct-drive system provides high power and increased torque. With a 17” cutting swath, the XRU18 offers increased productivity. The cordless string trimmer features a steel drive shaft for less vibration and longer life. An upgraded loop handle offers quick handle adjustments and a narrow debris shield provides line visibility. Weighing less than traditional gas string trimmers, this new battery-powered string trimmer provides uncompromised power and performance.

Technology

Automatic Torque Drive Technology Mode automatically shifts from 4,000-6,000 RPM for extended run time or added power. Users can also select from 3 speed options for power management. Reverse rotation function allows operator to quickly clear trimmer head of entangled grass and weeds.

For added durability, Makita’s Extreme Protection Technology (XPT^™). XPT is a series of integrated seals engineered to channel away dust and water for increased durability. Makita^® Products equipped with XPT are engineered for increased durability and longer tool life.
