June 16, 2020, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., the innovation leader in outdoor power equipment, power tools, and accessories, has introduced the new 18V X2 (36V) LXT® Brushless Cordless Blower (XBU04). The XBU04 is 3-tools-in-1 since it can easily convert from blower to a vacuum/mulcher with the vacuum attachment kit (included in XBU04ZV and XBU04PTV).
With lower noise and fewer emissions, the blower is a welcome solution for clean-up applications. The commercial design allows the blower to tackle demanding applications, comparable to gas blowers. Makita LXT Cordless Blowers eliminate the hassles of gas with zero emissions, lower noise, and reduced maintenance.
The Makita-built BL™ Brushless Motor delivers speed up to 120 MPH and a maximum air volume of 473 CFM. Makita’s Brushless Motors run cooler and more efficiently for longer life.
A cruise control lever provides management of power and run time by locking the power switch in the “On” position for continuous operation. A long nozzle with 3-stage telescoping action extends the pipe closer to the ground for user convenience. The ergonomic, lighter weight design and rubberized soft grip offers increased operator comfort.
The mulcher reduces up to 10 bags of leaves down to 1 bag with its shredding blade. The vacuum has precision suction power that is designed for leaf clean up without the need to alter stone and rock settings in plant beds.

For added durability, Makita’s Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™). XPT is a series of integrated seals engineered to channel away dust and water for increased durability. Makita® Products equipped with XPT are engineered for increased durability and longer tool life.
For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
