MAKITA EXPANDS GROWING LINE-UP OF 18V LXT BRUSHLESS

New LXDT08 and LXPH05 are also available in new LXT239 2-Pc. Combo Kit

MAY 14, 2012 La Mirada, Calif. – Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial strength power and results, has expanded its line-up of 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Motor tools with the new 18V LXT Brushless Impact Driver (LXDT08) and 18V LXT Brushless Motor Hammer Driver-Drill (LXPH05). Both tools are engineered with Makita LXT Brushless Motor Technology, optimized to deliver up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life.

The new LXT Brushless tools are part of Makita’s 18V LXT Series, with 50+ cordless tools powered by one fast-charging 18V Lithium-Ion battery.

Makita BL™ Brushless Motor Technology

Makita’s efficient BL™ Brushless motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per charge than similar non-brushless tools. Electronic controls efficiently use battery energy to match torque and RPM to the changing demands of the application for increased power and speed when needed. 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver (LXDT08)

The new LXDT08 is engineered with an efficient BL™ Brushless Motor with variable speed that delivers 1,420 in.lbs. of Max Torque, 0-3,200 impacts per minute, and 0-2,500 RPM for a wide range of fastening applications. The LXDT08 has an excellent power-to-weight ratio with a compact design (5-7/8” long) and less weight (only 3.4 lbs., with battery).

Consistent with all Makita impact tools, the proprietary hammer and anvil impact mechanism in the LXDT08 is manufactured using the best raw materials with the highest quality steel and unique heat hardening process for maximum fastening and driving power.

Ease-of-use features include a ¼” hex chuck for quick bit changes. It also has a built-in L.E.D. light that helps illuminate the work surface, and a tool belt clip that can attach to either side of the tool. The LXDT08 features a new rubberized grip, redesigned for improved comfort and ideal for anyone working a full day on the job site.

18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Hammer Driver-Drill (LXPH05)

The new LXPH05 ½” Hammer Driver-Drill is engineered with an efficient BL™ Brushless Motor that delivers 400 in.lbs. of Max Torque. The LXPH05 has 16 clutch settings and a variable 2-speed all-metal transmission (0-400/0-1,500 RPM) to cover a wide range of applications, plus hammer and drill modes. The LXPH05 also has an excellent power-to-weight ratio, with a more compact design (7-5/8” long) and less weight (only 3.8 lbs., with battery).
