MAKITA'S OFF ROAD TEAMS FINISH OFF THE SEASON STRONG

Brian Deegan Claims Two Championships and Kyle LeDuc Captures Another Victory

Brian Deegan en route to the Pro 2 Unlimited Championship

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series wrapped up the final round of the season over the weekend at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, AZ. With championships yet to be determined, Firebird played host to some of the most intense racing of the season. Makita’s sponsored teams put on a great show for the sell out crowd with the Rockstar Makita LeDuc racing team capturing a victory in Pro 4 and “The General,” Brian Deegan  claiming two championships, The Pro Lite Unlimited and the Pro 2 Unlimited Championship.

Rockstar Makita Metal Mulisha’s Brian Deegan came into the final round at Firebird in control of his own destiny. Brian came in leading the Pro 2 unlimited championship by a sizeable margin and the Pro Lite championship by 4 points. When it came time to race, Deegan jumped out to the early lead in Pro Lite’s and showed what a true champion he is by taking the hard fought win in ProLite to secure the championship and reclaim the title he had won in 2009. Rockstar Makita’s Kyle LeDuc followed him across the finish in second. In the Pro 2 title fight, Deegan had enough cushion coming into the final race that he simply needed to start the race in order to take the championship, and after an exciting 20 lap race, he was able to put his Rockstar Makita Metal Mulisha Ford on the podium in third place, which was more than enough to secure the championship in Pro 2 Unlimited in his rookie year and cap off an amazing season for “The General” that included two championships, and X games gold medal, 12 race wins and 21 podiums throughout the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing season.

In Pro 4 Action, the Rockstar Makita LeDuc racing team of Curt, Todd and Kyle Leduc all ran well in the qualifiers and once the race came, Kyle and Todd jumped into second and third place respectively.  It didn’t take Kyle long to put his Rockstar Makita Ford truck into first place and once he did, he never looked back claiming his sixth victory of the season and his fourth win in the last five races. Todd battled hard throughout the entire race and was able to secure a fourth place finish while his father, Curt LeDuc managed to finish in seventh place despite battling a tough case of the flu. Kyle’s string of victories to close out the season was good enough to earn him second overall in the championship while his brother Todd finished up right behind him in third.

The 2011 Lucas Oil Off Road Season has come to an end but you can still catch all the action on SPEED Channel and CBS Sports during the off season. Check your local TV listings for dates and times.
