The new XAD02 is part of Makita’s expanding 18V Lithium-Ion series, which offers 80+ tools and is the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

 

The XAD02 is powered by a Makita-built variable speed motor that delivers 0-1,800 RPM and 121 in.lbs. of torque for a range of drilling and driving applications. The 3/8” keyless chuck is engineered for fast and easy bit installation and removal. Unlike keyed chuck models, the XAD02 spares users the task of searching for a chuck key and instead offers easy bit installation or removal by simply turning the chuck. With a compact 3-1/2” angle head and a built-in L.E.D. light to illuminate the work area, the XAD02 is ideal for applications in close quarters. It weighs only 4 lbs. with a compact and ergonomic design at 12-3/8” for added user comfort.

 

For improved tool performance and extended battery life, the XAD02 features Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, overdischarging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT® and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
