MAKITA ADDS THREE 18V CORDLESS OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS FOR TRIMMING

Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial power and results, has released three new 18V cordless tools for outddoor trimming applications: the 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Hedge Trimmer (LXHU02Z), 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion String Trimmer (LXRU02Z), and 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Grass Shear (LXMU02Z).

The three new trimming tools are the latest additions to the expanding 18V LXT® line-up, with 65+ cordless tools powered by one fast-charging 18V Lithium-Ion battery that reaches a full charge in only 30 minutes.

LXHU02Z: 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Hedge Trimmer
The new LXHU02Z allows landscapers to cut the cord with up to 75 minutes of continuous run time on a single charge. The Hedge Trimmer has a 22” blade with a Makita-built motor that delivers 1,350 strokes per minute (SPM) for increased cutting speed. It has an ergonomic design at 37-1/2” long with less weight (only 7.4 lbs., with 18V LXT® battery, sold separately).

Additional features include an anti-vibration structure that is engineered with five cushions within the motor housing to help minimize vibration. For added convenience, the battery capacity warning system turns on an indicator light and automatically stops the motor to notify the user when it is time to recharge the battery. The LXHU02Z has lower noise at only 87dB(A), which is 25% quieter than comparable cordless hedge trimmers.

LXRU02Z: 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Cordless String Trimmer
The new LXRU02Z is another cordless option for landscapers, delivering instant start-up and up to 45 minutes of continuous run time on a single charge. The Makita-built motor delivers 7,800 RPM for a wide range of trimming applications. The cordless LXRU02Z has zero emissions and reduced maintenance, with no need to change gas or oil. It has an ergonomic and well-balanced design with less weight (only 6.4 lbs., with 18V LXT® battery, sold separately).

Additional features include telescoping shaft that allows the user to adjust the length of the tool from 48-1/2” to 56-1/2”, and an adjustable 5-position pivoting head that enables the user to adjust the cutting angle when trimming in tight spaces. In addition, the 180-degree rotating head allows the user to easily convert from trimmer to edger with a 10-1/4” cutting width. The spool assembly is engineered for quick attachment and rewinding, with a reinforced metal bump-feed button for increased user convenience. For added convenience, the battery capacity warning system turns on an indicator light and automatically stops the motor to notify the user when it is time to recharge the battery.

LXMU02Z: 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Grass Shear
The new LXMU02Z Grass Shear gives landscapers convenience and versatility in a compact size, with 1,250 SPM and up to 2 hours of run time on a single battery charge. The dual-blade action cuts with a shearing effect for improved results, with non-electrolyzed nickel-plated blades engineered to reduce staining and rusting. The toboggan-style base frame allows quick height adjustments to match the application for smooth and consistent cutting. The cordless LXMU02Z has a compact and ergonomic design at 13-1/2” long with less weight (only 3.2 lbs., with 18V LXT® battery, sold separately).

Additional features include “tool-less” blade changing, as well as a left and right lock-off button engineered to prevent instant start-up.  For added convenience, the battery capacity warning system turns on an indicator light and automatically stops the motor to notify the user when it is time to recharge the battery.
