MAKITA EXPANDS LINUP OF GRINDER OPTIONS WITH NEW 5" PADDLE SWITCH ANGLE GRINDER WITH AC/DC SWITCH

New angle grinder offers high power with low weight and multiple power options

Makita is releasing the new 5" Paddle Switch Angle Grinder with AC/DC Switch (9558HP) adding another option for professional users in metal fabrication shops as well as the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing trades.

February 14th, 2024, La Mirada, CA – Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools, power equipment, and accessories, has released the 5" Paddle Switch Angle Grinder with AC/DC Switch (9558HP) adding another option for professional users in metal fabrication shops as well as the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing trades.

High Power, Compact Size
The 9558HP features a powerful 7.5 AMP motor that delivers 10,000 RPM for faster material removal. The large, large flush-mounted paddle switch offers greater user comfort. The 5” Angle Grinder features a compact design at only 2-1/2” diameter barrel grip for added user convenience.
 
 Wide Variety of Users   
A long list of features and great power-to-weigh ratio makes the 9558HP idea for users in the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing trades. It is also ideal for users in fabrication shops allowing users to perform a wide variety of metal grinding applications.
 
Power Options
Users on job sites face a variety of challenges when locating a power source and the 9558HP allows users more options. The user has the option of using a simple slide switch to allow the 5” Angle Grinder to operate off of either AC or DC power (with a generator), depending on which power source is available at a job site.
 
 Rugged Construction for Pro Users
The 9558HP features labyrinth construction, which seals and protects the drive gear and bearing from contamination, as well as zig-zag varnish on both sides of the armature coil and a powder-coated field for added protection from dust and debris for longer tool life.
 
Additional Features
Additional features include an all ball-bearing design and metal gear housing for durability, and thicker coil wires that are wound more closely to reduce heat and energy loss. There is also a push button spindle lock and a side handle for operator convenience. The 9558HP weighs only 4.6 lbs for added user comfort.
