The 80V max (40V max X2) XGT® 70 lb. 1-1/8" Hex AVT® Breaker Hammer Kit, AWS® Capable with 4 Batteries (8.0Ah) (model number GMH04PL4X) delivers 53.7 ft. lbs./72.8 Joules of Impact Energy (0-870 BPM). The GMH04 delivers up to 70% faster breaking than corded* and is the most powerful cordless breaker in its class.
Makita once again breaks new ground with the new cordless XGT® 70 lb. Breaker Hammer giving users a powerful and portable tool that can demolish up to an 8ft. x 6ft. x 4in. thick 5000 psi concrete slab using two fully charged 40V max XGT® 8.0Ah Batteries (BL4080F).
The GMH04 features Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT®), which is an internal counterbalance system along with vibration-absorbing handles that work together to reduce up to 30% less overall vibration*. It also features Auto-start Wireless System (AWS®), which utilizes Bluetooth® technology for wireless power-on/off communication between tool and dust extractor (AWS® Transmitter sold separately). The 70 lb. Breaker Hammer also features Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™), engineered for improved dust and water resistance for operation in harsh conditions.
Convenience features include the "Soft no-load" function which automatically reduces the speed of the motor when idling to help increase tool life and performance. There are built-in Dual L.E.D. lights with an independent on/off switch for illumination of the work area. For dust extraction, Makita offers an optional Dust Attachment Kit.

Makita takes another step toward a truly cordless job site with Auto-Start Wireless System. AWS® uses Bluetooth® technology for wireless power-on and power-off communication between the equipped tool and dust extractor. AWS® is intelligent communication that eliminates cords and excessive noise since the dust extractor runs only when trigger-activated by an AWS® tool. When the trigger is released, the dust extractor powers-down. The Makita AWS® dust extractor (XCV08Z) is powered by two 18V LXT® batteries for maximum performance, and users benefit with an expanding AWS® system that includes cordless tools for concrete, metal and woodworking.
When the job takes your Makita tool into harsh conditions, Makita Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) provides added protection. XPT™ is a series of integrated seals engineered to channel away dust and water for increased durability. Wherever the job takes you, Makita tools equipped with XPT™ are engineered for increased durability and longer tool life.
Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT®) is a counterbalance system inside the tool that significantly reduces vibration. The AVT® counterbalance design is based on seismic engineering, which developed this damping science to absorb shocks and protect buildings from earthquakes. AVT® uses a mechanical damper, effectively a counterbalance weight inside the tool, that provides an equal and opposite force that puts a mass directly opposite the point where the striker bolt delivers the impact. As vibration is eliminated, power is efficiently increased which allows more of the generated energy in the motor to be delivered to the tool bit.
